Some information about Dong Nai
Dong Nai is situated on the Southest of Viet Nam, in the economical pivotal area plan - Southern economical triangle (Ho Chi Minh city - Dong Nai city - Ba Ria-Vung Tau city). Dong Nai borders the Lam Dong and Binh Phuoc provinces to the north ; Ba Ria-Vung Tau province to the south; Binh Thuan province to the east; Ho Chi Minh city and Binh Duong provinces to the west .
Dong Nai is located in the fluenced monsoon tropical climate area - with a mild climate, rarely faced with storms, floods and natural calamity, having a large Bazan land with the hardness and pressing tolerance features. It's useful for the agricultural development and industrial constructions. There have been a variety of natural resources : forest, granite stone, building stone, Puzoland clay, sand, gravel...
Population : approximately 2 million (1996)
Area : 5,864 sq.km
There are 9 administrative units ( Bien Hoa City and 8 villages ), including 163 communes, precincts and small towns.
Land transport
There are 3 highways throughout the North to the South of the province
- 1A Highway linking Ho Chi Minh City - Dong Nai - Northern provinces
- Highway 51 linking Ho Chi Minh City - Dong Nai - Ba Ria Vung Tau
- Highway 20 linking Ho Chi Minh City - Dong Nai - Da Lat
There have been also interprovincial transport links( Dong Nai - Binh Duong - Binh Phuoc) and intra-provincial transport links among villages.

Sea transport
River port system : Dong Nai port receives ships with capacity of 10,000 tones
Go Dau receives ships with capacity of 10,000 tones
Tuy Ha receives ships with capacity of 10,000 tones
Dong Nai river with 200 km long flowing through province, creating convenient conditions for the sea transport.
Agriculture :
Farming area is nearly 3,000 sq.km. There have been formed special agricultural zones with a great value for export and domestic consumption, such as : rubber, coffee, sugar-cane, tobacco, fruit trees (rambutan, mango, durian) and cereal plants.
Forestry :
Forest area is nearly 2000 sq.km. Dong Nai forest is the tropical one. There have been a lot of rare and valuable woods and animals. Especially there is Cat Tien National forest - the place bordering 3 provinces Dong Nai - Lam Dong - Binh Phuoc.
Cat Tien national forest is a primitive forest with a variety of animals : rhino, bull, buffalo; there have been a lot of valuable wood, such as : Go, Sao, Dau, Cho, Gian Huong.

Dong Nai has got nearly 2 million residents, of which above 1 million and 61 thousand people are within the working age (relevant to 54.7% total population of the province)
