Vice Minister of Information and Communications Tran Duc Lai has received Mr. Jeong – Hoon Lee, Deputy General Director cum Chief Representative of Korea Telecom(KT) in Hanoi recently.

At the meeting, the two sides has exchanged the cooperation opportunities as well as the Vietnamese ICT strategic development programs. Korea is one of the most dynamic ICT market in the region, when 3G technology launched in Korea, the Korean users has moved to use this services and 3G packages, however, the changing was not so dramatic as expected. However, with the official introduction of iPhone in Korean market, the usage of data capacity has obviously increased.

At this stage, KT is planning the cooperation with Vietnamese telecom enterprises in mobile internet services development. Furthermore, KT is also considering the shake hands with Vietnamese partners in the fields which KT has much potential such as ICT application, E-Government deployment and Wimax technology./.
