VINASAT-1  is the 1st satellite communications system in Vietnam, commercially launched in June 2008. The system consists of: 01 geographical communication satellite in 132o East of orbit location; 02 Telemetry, Tracking and Control (TT&C), main TT &C in Que Duong, Ha Tay and backup TT&C in Ben Cat Binh Duong; 01 Network Operation Center in Que Duong.

The VINASAT-1 and TT&C is provided by LockHeed Martin (US) and installed by Telesat (Canada)

Types of services:

VINASAT-1 offers two main services: satellite frequency leasing and package service.

For the satellite frequency leasing service, the satellite operator provides frequency only, which concern spacing segment, while for package service, the operator provides frequency as well as terminal system, which concerns spacing and terrestrial segments

Targeted customers are operators, Television stations, broadcasters and organizations owning specific communication networking.

 
Provided package services are: Telephone, fax and Internet (suitable for remote areas), trunking for mobile network (suitable for fast implementation required areas), SNG, international television,…
