Over 60 years of operation and development through many ups and downs of the country, VNPT is well aware of its supreme mission, that is to bring about good values to the lives of Vietnamese consumers and Vietnamese people. VNPT by its name has well exceeded beyond the meaning of a normal business and becomes a representative that always works for community and for the development of society.

Since its early days, VNPT realised that the expansion and development of the posts and telecommunications network to every corner of the country was not simply the development of business but had a great political and social meaning, bringing about great human values from the services to connect people.

With the initiative to build communal P&T and Cultural Points, the group has greatly contributed to bringin g the light of civilization,culture and general development to rural, mountainous and remote areas of Vietnam. The group’s network of communal P&T and Cultural Points with over 8,000 points covers 100% of the communes in the country.

VNPT is also known as a great sponsor of national events, such as the SEA Games 22, the APEC Summit 2006, and initiates many social activities like “The itinerary of compassion”, which helps the poor to have a happy Lunar New Year (Tet), programs to provide wheelchairs for disabled people, scholarships to poor students who are advanced in education , and building houses for heroic mothers of Vietnam, whose children laid down their lives for the country, and the “Young Talents of Vietnam” program which seeks and develops young talented pupils who are at primary education level. In 2008, VNPT was granted “Vietnamese Merci 2008” Gold Cup for great contribution to humane, charitable activities and repaying the deservers’ favor. So far, VNPT has contributed VND200 billions (US$12.5 millions) to social and charitable activities through the Fund of the Vietnam P&T Trade Union.
