The Viet Nam Software Association (VSA) and the Singapore Information Technology Association (SITA)have jointly held a seminar focusing on cooperation in the application of e-government technology in Hanoi on March 10.

Representative of the International Enterprise Singapore said that Singapore has launched six IT development program and strategies over the last 25 years, and implemented three general plans to develop e-government system.

The Vietnam IT Application Department official said the Vietnamese government is launching several program and projects to develop the e-government capacity, such as digitalizing all of the governments management tasks and activities by 2010, and establishing an integrated information system to study national databases, as well as launching a series of web-based public services by 2015.

At the event, the VSA and SITA also signed a MoU, in preparation for a collaboration between businesses from the two nations to promote e-government application in Viet Nam./.
