To remain and promote the cooperation between Vietnam and France on Posts, Telecom, and IT, according to the bilateral cooperation agreement between Vietnam Ministry of Information and Telecommunications (MIC) and France Ministry of Economy, Industry and Employment (STSI), the 6th Vietnam - France bilateral meeting was held on December 18 - 19 in Hanoi. Participants in the meeting were Vice Minister of MIC, Mr Nguyen Thanh Hung who read the opening speech; leaders from Departments of Information and Telecommunications, Vietnam Television, radio the voice of Vietnam...;some enterprises of VTC, EVN Telecom, Hanoi Telecom, FPT, Vietnam software association, Vietnam Association for Information Processing... and French ambassador to Vietnam, Mr. Herve' Bolot and representatives of STSI, France Telecom, Alcatel...

In the meeting, the two sides read the update reports of each others post, telecom and IT development, exchanging views and experiences on building laws, ICT development policy, telecom and digital television management, e-government, human resource training, cooperation between the enterprises of telecom and IT of the two countries. The two sides also discuss about the government’s role in telecom technology convergence, IT, 3G, IT human resource training, and enterprises` business activities..

Mr. Hung affirmed that the meeting was an effective forum to discuss about the problems of law, policies, managements, especially in IT and Telecom, at the same time, being an important channel to promote understanding of each other, strengthening cooperation relationship. Otherwise, through the meeting, related enterprises can learn much about investment environment and business chances.

On this occasion, France agreed to help Vietnam on IT human resource training work, continue to share experiences on law building and create favorable conditions to develop information industry, at the same time, bring out many ideals to promote the good relationship between the two countries./.
