VNPT to complete 4G BTS installation

The Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) is one of five enterprises which licensed services by the Ministry of Information and Communication (MIC) for testing 4G technology in the duration of 1 year. Right after receiving the license, VNPT has deployed for the first Long Term Evolution (LTE) –base technology BTS and provided radio broadband services running on LTE technology – base, pre-4G technology.


After 39 days of deployment with the support of state management agencies, the first LTE BTS not only in Vietnam but also in the South East Asia has been installed. With the Internet access speed up to 60Mbps/second,  customers will satisfy with the services which requires broadband applications such as video, HDTV and online entertainments.


It’s estimated that the phase 1 of the project in Hanoi will be completed before 26th October. LTE is  system of technology which developed from GSM/UMTS (WCDMA, HSPA) now under the research with an aim to make the new mobile broadband access network heading to 4G technology. With its potential advantages, LTE technology is drawing the high attention and investment of almost world’s leading telecom companies as Alcatel-Lucent, Ericsson, ZTE…


So that,  playing as the leading Internet service provider in Vietnam with more than 70% of market share, the completion and bringing into use the first LTE - technology BTS has marked the significant success in technology management of VNPT and contributed to the implementation of National Program on IT Applications designed by the Government.
