On 5 November 2008, the Ministry of Information and Communication (MIC) officially issued 3G profiles to mobile networks in Hanoi. Now 7 operators are capable to take part in the contest including Mobifone, Vinaphone, Viettel, EVN Telecom, SPT, Hanoi Telecom and GTel. The profiles must satisfy some obliged standards like coverage, network infrastructure...

After receiving profiles, operators will have more than 3 months to complete projects and expect to submit early January, 2009. After that, MIC will remark and report the result to the Prime Minister. Telecom Department under MIC said that 3G liscence will be launched before April 2009.

In this contest, commercial right fee for 3G liscence will be put out by MIC for 4 winners. Besides, they will have to make deposit for 3G deployment./.
