Yesterday, in Tien Son Industrial Zone, Bac Ninh Province, the Telecommunications Technical Joint Stock Company (TST) and Huawei Technologies (China) held a ground-breaking ceremony to start the construction of a telecom equipment factory.

Present at the ceremony were Deputy Minister of Information and Communication Nguyen Minh Hong, VNPT Acting BoM Chairman Pham Long Tran and VNPT Vice President Lam Hoang Vinh.

Located on a total area of 1ha, the factory, or HTSV, will be built using local investment of VND160 billion. The assembling line, technology transfer and workforce training will be supported by Huawei. In the initial stage, the factory will roll out two equipment of MSAN and IP-DSLAM which are highly required by the market.

The factory is expected to start operation in late 2008./.
